The hotel entrance, lobby, and location are great, but unfortunately that’s where the positives end. As soon as we stepped into the room, there was a strong unpleasant smell, like damp carpets or a gutter. I immediately opened the windows to get some fresh air, but it didn’t help at all. The rooms are in desperate need of a full refurbishment. The carpets are very old, dirty, and stained, and the curtains were mismatched—one long, one short—with multiple stains on them. Because of the condition of the carpet, I had to lay spare bedsheets on the floor so my baby could sit and crawl safely. The service was also very poor. We were given only two small water bottles for a family of five. When we called to request more, we were told that only two bottles per day are allowed and we would have to pay for any extra. This was extremely disappointing, especially since we checked in at 10 pm and requested water around 1 am (technically the next day). The staff were unwilling to help or arrange water, and my husband had to walk to a shop at 1 am to buy water for our family. Overall, the hotel is not child-friendly, the rooms are run down, and the service is disappointing. Despite the great location, I would not recommend this hotel unless major upgrades and improvements are made.
The hotel is very good, and I highly recommend it. Its location is excellent—beautiful and close to everything. The staff are extremely polite and respectful. I stayed for three nights, and we truly enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable throughout the visit. I would also like to highlight an important point: my wife forgot her handbag, and when we returned to the hotel, we found it safely kept in the hotel’s lost and found department. This was a wonderful experience that truly reflects the hotel’s honesty and enhances trust in their service.
Very highly recommend hotel. The staff is exceptionally very helpful and wonderful, exactly what you need for the first time, we have an holiday in Istanbul. In the restaurant at 6th floor, we love SABENA, she’s very good with us, very outstanding, also the chefs and the manager. Love ‘the very very very hot chocolate’ that i always request, thank you for make it happen. We came there with the big group, always wear different Dress Code, took so many picture was so beautiful. Love the photoshoot from the hotel as they love our Dress Code. This is a great hotel located right in very convenient area of the old town in Istanbul. We can walk to so many famous attractions like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace, etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and convenient stay in Istanbul. We will definitely recommend this place to others.💖💖💖
I rarely leave bad reviews, but this stay was so unbelievably disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. First, I was given a room with a “view” of the hotel’s interior courtyard—basically a giant chandelier and walls. No natural light, no actual outside view. To make it worse, the curtains didn’t even cover the window properly, so the room was lit up all night. When I requested a change, I was moved to another room… still facing the courtyard. So much for an upgrade. The second room was even worse. It felt old, stuffy, and way too warm. The window opened only into the indoor atrium, so there was absolutely no fresh air. The AC didn’t work at all, so the room was basically a sauna. I barely slept because of how hot it was, on top of the constant noise echoing through the courtyard. The bathroom was tiny to the point of being uncomfortable: the toilet was practically touching the sink and the shower, with no space to move around. And on the last night, the shower stopped functioning properly. No matter how I adjusted the handle, the water would suddenly turn scalding hot. I literally couldn’t shower. To make things even more ridiculous, the light switch was broken, and the electricity box where you insert the key card wasn’t fixed to the wall. It didn’t work unless we jammed a toothpick in it. That’s the level of “maintenance” this place is at. The room was dark, unpleasant, noisy, overheated, and completely dysfunctional. I didn’t get a proper night’s sleep during the entire stay. Absolutely not worth the money and definitely not a place I would ever return to or recommend.
The only positive point about this hotel is its location. Unfortunately, the sound insulation is extremely poor. I stayed for 6 nights and barely slept. I could hear conversations from other rooms, showers running, hair dryers, and every noise from the corridor and neighboring rooms. It was very uncomfortable and exhausting. Another big issue was the room key system. During my entire 6-night stay, the key only worked once. Every single time I left the room, I had to go back to the reception to reactivate it. All guests were complaining about this, and the staff never explained why this was happening, even though my stay was fully paid. It was a complete waste of time and very frustrating. Breakfast was below average and exactly the same every day. If you arrive during the last hour of breakfast, many items are already finished, and the staff refuse to refill the buffet, even though it is still within the official breakfast time….
Hace varios años que viajamos por Europa y Sudamérica y sin duda uno de los peores hoteles que estuvimos y es una pena! Es un edificio antiguo hermoso, pero muy mal mantenido! Las habitaciones muy sucias, el baño daba asco, no había aire, era invierno y solo aire central caliente. Pero nosotros teníamos calor y las ventanas daban al hall interno del edificio, por lo tanto no corría viento. Nos dieron una solución con un ventilador, pero aún así no alcanzaba. El gerente muy muy amable, pero los recepcionistas bastante mala onda. Realmente necesitan hacerle mantenimiento para que no se venga abajo. Porque es un edificio bellísimo y en una ubicación privilegiada! Caminas a todos lados, cerca de todos los bazares y mezquitas.
Estamos alojados en el hotel. La ubicación es excelente para el que elige estar en Sultán Ahmed ( la zona antigua). Hotel muy antiguo que necesita reciclaje en las habitaciones y desayunador La atención excelente, llegamos a nuestra habitación que era estándar y no nos gustó ( chica y oscura). Al momento pedimos cambio a una categoría superior y pagando una pequeña diferencia realmente vale la pena. El personal, en especial Seda con una sonrisa todo el día, tienen una amabilidad que da gusto hablar con ellos. Desayuno completo.
La verdad una mala experiencia, dice ser hotel 5 estrellas con servicios ni siquiera de 1 estrella, me olvide una campera North Face, a la semana regrese al mismo hotel y no tuve ninguna respuesta, en la recepción nadie daba una solución concreta, solamente decirnos que volvamos cuándo hagamos el check-in, en ningún hotel tuve este tipo de experiencia, la verdad me robaron, no lo recomendaría, por menos precios hay mejores hoteles que ofrecen mejor servicio y con soluciones rápidas. The truth is a bad experience, it claims to be a 5-star hotel with services not even 1 star, I forgot a North Face jacket, a week later I returned to the same hotel and had no answer, at the reception no one gave a concrete solution, just tell us to come back when we check-in, in no hotel I had this type of experience, the truth is they robbed me, I would not recommend it, for less prices there are better hotels that offer better service and with quick solutions
Volveré este verano por la ubicación , el desayuno regular las habitaciones grande aunque a mis amigos le tocaron una mejor ,del grupo de 5 habitaciones la mía fue la peor pero cuando vuelva pediré una a la calle ,el personal te ayuda en lo que necesites aunque no hablan español ,el hotel es muy bonito y limpio aunque un día no me limpiaron la habitación lo.pedi y cuando volví la tenía hecha volveré porque la ubicación para mí fue buena la calle estaba ambientada junto el mercado de las especies y una mezquita volveré ,espero que está vez tenga más suerte y me toque una habitación exterior
Hotel perfecto para visitar Estambul, ya que se encuentra cerca de el Bazar de las especias, a 3 minutos andando, a 5 del puente de Galata y del muelle desde donde salen los barcos para navegar y ver los monumentos desde el Bosforo, a 16 minutos del Gran Bazar, a 15 de Santa Sofía.. etc. El Hotel tiene unas magníficas vistas, un Haman muy bueno, una pequeña piscina, sauna, gimnasio, spa. Tiene un buen restaurante si te gusta el pescado, los desayunos son variados y muy buenos. Las habitaciones son cómodas y el personal del hotel es súper amable, y eficiente. Lo más destacable es el personal, amable, educado, y muy eficiente. Caben destacar el magnífico servicio de relación con el huésped, dirigido por Nadeem y el de recepción destacando la amabilidad de la srta Meltem, te solucionan cualquier problema y te ayudan en cualquier cosa que puedas necesitar. Enhorabuena al departamento de Atención al cliente, ha conseguido que nos sintieramos como en casa. Algo a mejorar, es que tengan alguna cadena de televisión en español, ya que es un hotel con muchos huéspedes hispano hablantes.
